Inspiration: Overalls

image
Photo from majawyh

As someone who used to be a strong t-bar opponent, I've swallowed my pride and am now happy to admit that t-bar flats are the bomb. T bar heels are another issue altogether, but the flats? Yes please. More intriguing than ye olde simple ballets, not as fussy as wedges or heels, t bar flats are more Alexa than Alexa herself. Time to start the search for an every day pair.

There you go, I bet you thought this post was going to be about her wicked overalls. Got you there.

Some days we work very hard, and others are super lazy.  Saturday was the latter and oh boy it was fabulous.

Somedays Off-Duty: T

lefanciulle (19 of 23).jpg

And here's part two of our Somedays Lovin style challenge!  The great thing about these "style challenges" is that firstly, S & I have yet another excuse to spend some quality time together on a rampage about town - something that we don't get to do so often nowadays.  Secondly, we can try new styles that we wouldn't usually go for - case in point is this jumpsuit (also sadly very Summer-appropriate, and therefore quite out of place in yesterday's gale-force winds).

Somedays Off-duty: S

lefanciulle (1 of 32).jpg

What does Off Duty meant to us?  Apart from lounging around the house, one of my favourite things to do whilst not at work is to grab a coffee (chai latte if it's after midday!) with T and galavant around town.  Yesterday's outing took us to Peachy in Shenton Park, The Little Pantry next door for the beverages & then Rokeby Road for a spot of browsing.

Somedays Lovin kindly invited LeFanciulle to take part in their Somedays Lovin x Natalie Offduty style challenge and I picked this very Summer-appropriate white tank to try out.  On a rainy weekend like this one, a white tank goes perfectly under a wool coat, especially when combined with my never-grows-old jeans & ballet flats combination.

Wedding: Shoes

DSC_7634

Not much to update you all re: wedding planning since I have hand-balled it to the super awesome Jess of The Butcher, The Baker, The Stylist & Creator (who has also sworn my decor plans to secrecy for now!), but because I can't contain my excitement, here are the shoes.  S, as my MOH (obviously!), has a matching pair, and the rationale behind our crazy "investment" was:

1. White satin wedding shoes are the devil
2. Any excuse to cash in on our favourite shoes
3. We will wear them again, and again, and again etc etc.

Now to hide them away in the box for another seven months...

Cafe!

DSC_7629

Whilst I'm not a coffee-addict like the majority of the medical brethren, I do entertain good hygiene & caffeine has taken a central role in that matter.  Additionally, as one constantly ridden with dermatitis, I can't even express how much better this makes my skin look & feel.  It sure beats the constant steroid creams!

Tonight, after slogging away for the whole weekend, I will be scrubbing in to some relaxation with this Peaches & Clean coffee scrub (a generous gift from Katrina when we visited her MANY 6160 Fremantle store).  It's my new long-shift ritual!  And that goat's milk bath powder is next on my list.

My newly-discovered hot tip for shift work/long days?
Make a huge deal out of things you've got to do (eating breakfast, having a shower, etc) and TREAT YO' SELF.  It keeps you sane.

Fresh from Sydney, hop on in to Ae'lkemi in Claremont to check out Alvin's creations.  Impeccable as always, with more delectable lace and beading.  If only we had more events to go to!

Lefanch Turns Four!

DIY-Gold-Dipped-Balloons-Step-2

DIY from here

Guess what?  It's LF's fourth birthday today!!

We're definitely not (and have never aspired to be) pro-bloggers and as such are happily plodding along with our day-jobs in honour of this auspicious occasion.  I guess we hope you don't mind our emphasis on being relatable!

Not that we've been very consistent with keeping tabs on how old this blog is, but comparing our content nowadays to what we started with just shows how far we've come.  Although we might no longer post as regularly and dedicate countless hours to little lefanch, we're thankful for the amazing opportunities this humble project of ours has brought, and we're so happy to have been able to share it with you!  Be prepared for a bit more slow plodding from us, and we hope you stick around :)

Zimmerman: Cloud Stompers

image
image

Monday, start of the working week for most normal folk.

This year T & I have both tossed about our ideas about separating or combining work clothes with weekend clothes.  We have come to the conclusion that whilst there are some items destined to be work-only (hello black trousers) and others resigned to leisure (destroyed jeans, i'm lookin' at choo!), it makes much more sense to wear everything everywhere.  I think perhaps it's the combinations that make an outfit office/hospital appropriate, rather than the actual item.

Zimmerman's Cloud Stompers collection hails the come back of the pussy-bow blouse, a quintessential office wear item.  Something that ladies world wide call on to interchange with a stiff collar.

I sense a strong Zimmerman habit brewing.

Blouses here & here.

Wouldn't mind this red bombshell dress either...

Outfit: Howdy

balenciaga papier mini lefanciulle (16 of 17).jpg

Ahh werk, ruining my free time to go gallivanting.  Might as well get dressed when the occasion arises!  If you were wondering, that does mean weekend accessories, heels, and crazy prints I'd only be able to pull off as a senior.

Favourite leopard-print boots from Peachy after the jump!

Treat Yo Self

image
Tonight is my birthday eve, which means I'm in a self indulgent mood.  See, your birthday might be just one day, but I like to think of it as a season ;)  This season can last as long as necessary.  It begins when you first realise it's nearly my birthday yahoo and ends when you receive your last gift.  One year my friend gave me last year's gift on the next birthday which meant that that was one loooong birthday season.

Rant aside, I want this silk tshirt because
1 - it's silk
2 - it's spotty
3 - it's my birthday

Scent: Rose Noir

large

I whiffed this beauty at Mecca Cosmetica yesterday, and the scent is still lingering on my wrist a full day later!  Sharp top notes give way to the soft, decadent, & alluring smell of the rose damascena.  It's a contemporary & clean scent which I'd recommend if you're a non-powdery, damask rose-loving floral fan - I imagine this could be the scent of a Western suburbs lady of leisure.

Top: grapefruit, freesia
Heart: rose damascena
Base: cistus, moss, musk

Dinner Time

tableware1

1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5/7 | 6
(I rarely feel overwhelmed with anything, let alone excitement, but links 2 & 5 are giving me palpitations)

S & I were talking the other day about how much we're itching to make homes of our own.  I guess you know you're jumping into this boat when you've spent the last few weekends buying cutlery & crockery for your non-existent house!  Here's a collection of inspiration photos for my choice of table-toppers, assembled retrospectively and inspired by the Gordon Ramsay "Bread Street" dinnerware set we claimed for ourselves over the weekend.  Simple, clean, and succulent!  Now time to hunt down some matte-finished pieces and more milky whites.

A question for those in the know: would it be sensible to buy doubles of a dinnerware set just in case things get chipped/broken, or have you found that it just wastes space?

Street Style: Joy

lefanciulle (1 of 17).jpg

Accosting my friends for outfit photos still counts as street style, given that they wore it on the street, yes?
