Travel: Singapore Photo Diary

lefanciulle (100 of 103).jpg

I guess today's post is fitting for a throw-back Thursday (#tbt #erhmergerd #fashunnnn), and at the present I am on day eleven of twelve days in a row at work.  The light at the end of the tunnel is there!  My brain is beginning to get soggy around the edges and all I want to do is lie on the floor and stare at the ceiling!  Ahhh, the working #lyfe.  I guess I'll just have to live vicariously through my Singapore photos and pine for the golden week of leave in a couple of months.  So soon, but so far away...
I was in S-town a couple of weeks ago for a junket conference (I jest! I swear I attended and learnt things.) which of course meant the extra days I had there were spent trawling the shoppes, visiting the zoo and Sentosa, and eating everything under the sun with Simon.  Food recommendations to come since that was Simon's (food)-baby, but today are just some pretty pictures after the jump to convince you that making the 5-hour plane ride is very much worth it!

The Perfect Everything

I have a strange belief that there is a "perfect one" of everything.  There is the perfect pair of black ankle boots that eludes me (T says I'm too picky!).  There is a perfect breton top (I can't find it, they all stretch!).  There is a perfect pair of ballet flats, oh hey Repetto, why you so exxy.

AND... there's a perfect black leather tote bag that I think I may have found.  The perfect tote is made of soft, but hardy leather.  It is simple and black.  Wider than it is short.  No logos, or just very subtle black-on-black ones.  Doesn't break the bank, but isn't carried by every girl and their dog.  Rib and Hull, have you done it?

Obviously, the bag also comes in black...

I hope your weekend was relaxing and a bit more work-less than mine!

Wish Style Challenge: T

wish cover

We are stoked to again be participating in Wish's style challenge!  In true S & T style, we are pushing it to due-date limit thanks to some torrential downpour and death-by-work.  No stunning city-scape in my offering to fit the "Winter in the City" theme, but I'll have you know I wore most of this outfit to the city today and it was well-received by many a random.  Enjoy!

Event: Zomp Shoes

DSC_7012

Shoes galore!

Perth's premier shoe store, Zomp, opened its new doors a mere stone's throw away from its previous abode on King Street, and we had the pleasure of attending the launch on Tuesday night.  Having carved out its name as one of the local meccas for enviable shoes, Zomp showed off its new retail space and new season stock.  We can assure you that if you're looking for boots, you'll definitely have a range to choose from here!  And if on the market for other things, well, this awesome shop stocks Opening Ceremony, Belle by Sigerson Morrison, Beau Coups, and Jeffrey Campbell to whet your brand-whore whistle.

Event photos after the jump. (the "+" sign if you're still figuring this one out)

Flashback: Bindaring Red Cross Sale

IMG_1886
IMG_1819

This post is really quite cruel.  Hey guys!  There was an amazing clothing sale - for charity at that - and you missed it!  I'm crossing my fingers that you stalk us on Insta & all the other stalking modalities, because if you did you would have surely known about the sale.

Poor timing aside though, I popped down to the show grounds on the morning before the sale to make a rack of "my picks" and dress a few mannequins.  What could have been a lot of fun quickly turned into a traumatic morning of ohmygoshiwantitall & dying on the inside knowing I couldn't even attend the sale!  I know, big problems.

Thinking about Interiors

image
Getting to the strange domesticated stage of life where photos of kitchens are actually interesting to me.  So weird.  Interior design is only a tiny hop, skip & jump away from fashion really, and it seems T & I are simultaneously making that hop.  Time to stop buying dresses (I've been good lately!) and save up for some white paint and huge window frames.

Travel: Denmark & Pemberton

titlepic

As much as going overseas is ahhmazing, there's nothing like popping a bunch of bathers, towels, a book, comfy clothes and some snacks in the car and driving to a nearby slice of heaven.  And by nearby, I mean in Western Australian terms, haha!  Vicinity is all relative.

P & I journeyed to Denmark & Pemberton earlier in the year, eating & drinking our way around the awe-inspiring region.  I thought doing a travel guide might be a good blog feature, but there's really no point.  The locals (think: your b&b host/local visitors centre) are the ones that truly know where to go, what time of year to visit each site and can recommend the best food in town.
My tip is to just get in the car & go!  We're so lucky to live in WA.

Grey Coat

Untitled

In keeping with my track record of purchasing winter clothes in tropical countries, let me introduce to you my latest addition to the coat family from the one and only Cos.

P.S. If you didn't already realise from my Instagram and twitter posts, I'm in Singapore whilst S is holding the front back home.  I'll be back soon with my food recommendations!

Bootie Issues

Sadly no Beyonce booties around here, so our bootie issues are more footwear - related.  You see, T (along with the rest of the cool people of this world) has a knack of wearing boots with, well, anything.  Boots with short skirts, boots with midi skirts, boots with cropped jeans, boots with normal jeans... whereas poor me looks like a right old fool when I try this look.  This Winter I pledge, in an oh so serious voice, to solve this stupid issue & find some boots that don't make me seem like I forgot my tights/have feet too small for my body (what is with that...)

Then maybe I'll be able to emulate this collage...

(minus the molto expensive skirt) (potentially these are the boots?)

Country Road top & clutch, Michael Kors skirt, Marant boots

Street Style: Catherine

lefanciulle (7 of 10).jpg

Believe it or not, Catherine was off to work.  "Does she work in fashion?" you ask - and the answer is no!  What a lovely example of injecting character into your working wardrobe.
