P-p-p-polaroid

Polaroid Post

Polaroids were a bit hit-and-miss due to the crazy un-user-friendly settings.
Will take it out for a spin a bit more next time (and hopefully not get photo-bombed by the wait-staff)!

Hurrah

Last night was our annual WAMSS Medical Dinner, a night to congratulate the graduating class, celebrate the year that has gone by (and the many preceding it) & also a kind of last hurrah before the serous hibernation sets in before exams.

T took some lovely photos of our pretty/handsome friends at our pre ball event, which you can browse below!
Starting with photos of us because, well... it's our blog & we can do whatever we like mwahahahaha

Can you spot our handsome beaus?
One is a serious hipster with Fuji X100 (photos here if you're curious) & the other has a serious 'do going on... not to mention the cuff links ;)

Keep your eyes peeled, we will post some polaroids from the night soon!
(T has been wanting to use her polaroid for so long! Finally!)

Photo from this cool editorial

The wind has changed direction & it is time to concentrate solely on some important things that need to be conquered soon.  For the next month-and-a-bit, posting will be light on as we focus on preparing for the annual unspeakables.

But fear not, we'll treat you with things we have been storing for this exact purpose.  We've also got our ball coming up this Friday! Woo!!  So hopefully there'll be some photographical proof of our inevitably splendiferous good looks.

In the meanwhile, here are some convenient links to all of our PFF 2012 coverage.

PFF 2012: Ae'lkemi on the Runway

Le Fanciulle (2 of 125).jpg

Wow, what a show.
Following our preview of Ae'lkemi's Lumière collection, we attended the runway show on Sunday night, the second last day of PFF 2012.

See our previous post (here) for details behind the collection, including designer Alvin Fernandez' inspiration.  The hair and makeup for the show was very glamorous & other-world-ish.  Have a look at the pictures below to see for yourself.  Since the beauty of Alvin's designs is in the detail & immaculate handwork, we have tried to include mostly close ups.

For full shots & the full runway, see our Flickr set here.
For our favourite shots from the night, keep on reading!

Ae'lkemi: Lumière

As a continuation of our love affair with local designer Alvin Fernandez' label Ae'lkemi, we were delighted to get a sneak preview of his SS12/13 collection titled: Lumière, which is to be shown tomorrow night at PFF.

Le Fanciulle (2 of 11).jpgLe Fanciulle (4 of 11).jpgLe Fanciulle (3 of 11).jpg
Le Fanciulle (1 of 11).jpgLe Fanciulle (9 of 11).jpg

The Lumière collection features garments that all have a sheen to them, ranging from delicate silks to a scuba-like material.  The iconic Ae'lkemi evening gowns have also been given a sporty angle, subconsciously channeling this season's big trend, but without looking like anything else on the market.

One of our favourite things about Ae'lkemi is that you could be anything from 16 to 116 and still look good in the designs.  Ae'lkemi prides itself on its ability to dress not only a bride, but the whole bridal party and the mother of the bride!

Add to this the quality workmanship (see the detail above!) & the amazing personal service you receive from the designer himself, and you have a label that we could not rave more about.

Check back after tomorrow night to see photos of the runway show.

Special thanks to Alvin for showing us his masterpieces!

PFF 2012: Designer Capsule #1

Le Fanciulle (85 of 175).jpg

What happens when an extremely talented young designer begins to ponder future evolution of the human species?  The above picture tells all.  Read on for more pictures of Zsadar SS12/13.

Yesterday was a mammoth day for both of us.  We started early with the Restyle show, then raced off to GP (hastily removing false eyelashes & scrubbing off show makeup) & the library for studious-fun-times.  To top it all off, we attended PFF Designer Capsule #1: SS12/13 collections from Daniella Caputi, ZSADAR, Lisa Marjanovich, and The Butcher + The Crow.

Details after the jump & more photos on our Flickr set here.

Restyle on the Runway!

Le Fanciulle (50 of 74).jpg

After much a month of hard work and a lot of anticipation, we finally took part in the Restyle Runway show this morning.  And judging by our faces in the photo above... we are so sad to see it all end!

Walking on the runway was such a ridiculous experience.  We nearly died of nerves, but in the end it was actually heaps of fun.  The crowd was clapping & smiling, the team behind the scenes was really encouraging and well, we didn't stack it!  Huzzah!!

I Can See You

With PFF starting tomorrow (& our runway debut, uh oh) it is time to start thinking of things to wear!

Lucky for us, NYFW & LFW are just finishing/starting respectively & there is plenty of both runway and street style inspiration to go around.  I'm actually dying for these See by Chloe looks for Spring 2013.  Fresh pastels & metallics are definitely the way to go.

Oh My Goth!

Le Fanciulle (6 of 11).jpg

Continuing on the current sports-luxe looks I've been sporting (pardon the pun) - keep your eyes peeled on this blog in the following weeks - I give you this Harry-highpants look featuring my two new favourite additions to my wardrobe!

Firstly the shoes.  Spikes and wedge sneakers a-la Ash?  Comfort level over 9000??  Thank you TBA for making these beauties and luring me with your flashy pictures.

Secondly the Gail Sorronda tee.  You might have already spotted it hiding under my fuzzy jacket in the Remedy post on the weekend.  Gail Reid is one of the Australian designers who will be in town for PFF, and for some reason I was instantly obsessed with this crazy shirt.  You can get it here, if you are likewise obsessed with silly (but cool) things.

Perth has a Blow Dry Bar!

As alluded to in yesterday's post, we were chuffed to try out the services at Perth's first Blow Dry Bar at the freshly-opened Raine Square.  We were whisked into the eye-catching new salon (complete with chandeliers and a champagne bar!) and were promptly led to the basins for a wash, followed by a blow-dry - all in under 30 minutes!

Don't be fooled - the salon doesn't just do blow-dries; they offer full hairdressing services as well, including cuts and colouring.  Our hair also felt (and smelt) amazing, thanks to the Bangstyle products which are exclusive to BDB.

Highly recommended for that next night out, you can get a blow dry for as little as $40 (or even have a blow-dry party with some pals).  Kudos to the team as well, who have been working so hard - thanks for getting us ready in such a short time!

Check out BDB's Facebook page here for more details.

We will be back!
